I am taking part in the Microsoft Kilometres for Kids Challenge this February!

As part of my new year’s resolution to get and stay fit in 2022, I’ve set myself a personal challenge to complete some Kilometres for Kids! This is also a chance for me to raise much-needed funds to support children’s charities through the Chain Reaction Challenge Foundation.

The complications of the past few years have meant many charities struggled to raise enough funds to continue their programs, upgrade necessary facilities or purchase life-saving equipment. Chain Reaction ensures that they maximise every dollar raised so that their charity partners can continue the good work that they do.

Help encourage me to push through to reach my fitness and fundraising goals with a donation to this cause. The good habits I set here I plan to continue in 2022 and I want to leave behind a positive impact for myself and for kids in need.

As part of this month I will be competing in the Fiona Elsey Cycle Classic (road and gravel support Cancer research),  Otway Gravel Grind, and the Tour of Sufferlandria (Davis Phinney foundation supporting Parkinsons)

My Updates

4th female overall in cycling

Well it was not the month I had hoped. The light cough I started the month with turned into a full chest infection and I took 2 weeks off the bike at the start and end of the month to try get better. I’m on antibiotics now, and still slowly on the mend. I hope the kms count! Our Industry solutions team came 3rd in the cycling category and 2nd in the fund raising.
I came 4th overall in the female cycling category. My competitive mind went to check how many kms it would take to get to third and how many hours there were in the day ?
More fire for next year!

Big Challenges over the month

There are a few challenges I have set myself.
Firstly to be consistent and log all the exercise.
Secondly the KM goal is realistic based on the type of riding I will be doing (road and gravel).
Thirdly, to support the charities that I have been working with over the last few years: Fiona Elsey is a local cancer research centre in Ballarat. Chain reaction will be sending our donations to children's charities and finally an international charity in the Davis Phinney's Foundation for Parkinson's. I've added in a personal challenge to do the Otway Gravel Grind event which will take both coordination with family and a massive physical toll if I can do the long course.
Why not challenge in 2022?! let's do it!
